SCOPE

Essentially, graduates of this course professionally create original designs per the constantly evolving trends of the market, besides studying such market and fashion related trends. They may work as fashion Designers, Fashion Coordinators, Quality control managers, Merchandiser Managers, Production Managers, Entrepreneurs, Fashion Journalists, and Professors etc.

Programme Structure

The first semester lays the foundation with courses in Introduction to Fashion Design, Textile Science, and Drawing & Illustration. Students are introduced to the basics of fashion design principles, textile properties, and visual representation techniques, setting a strong groundwork for creative and technical skills in fashion

In the second semester, students delve into Fashion History, Pattern Making, and Basic Sewing Techniques. The curriculum emphasizes understanding fashion evolution, creating patterns, and mastering fundamental sewing skills essential for designing and producing garments.

This semester covers Advanced Pattern Making, Fabric Technology, and Fashion Illustration. Students refine their pattern-making skills, explore fabric properties and applications, and enhance their illustration techniques to communicate design ideas and concepts effectively.

Students in the fourth semester study Garment Construction, Fashion Merchandising, and textile design. The focus is on advanced garment construction techniques, understanding the business side of fashion, designing textiles, and preparing students for the practical and commercial aspects of the fashion industry.

The fifth semester introduces Fashion Branding, Trend Analysis, and Digital Fashion Design. Students explore branding strategies, analyze fashion trends, and engage in digital design tools, equipping them with skills to position and market fashion designs in a competitive landscape.

In the final semester, students undertake a major project involving Fashion Collection Development, Fashion Show Production, and Industry Internship. This capstone experience integrates their learning through a comprehensive fashion collection, a showcase event, and practical industry experience, ensuring readiness for professional roles in fashion.
